Glasses measurements
frame size
The size of the frame is determined by its horizontal width, calculated from the central part of the left hinge to the corresponding central part of the right hinge, and is expressed in millimeters (mm) (image). The frames can be available in one size or in different sizes.
O
Generally, each frame has the product code (model code e
color) and 3 numbers corresponding respectively to the caliber (width of the lens),
bridge width and rod length. (Image numbers and examples).
If you already own a pair of glasses
To identify the correct size, use a ruler and measure the distance between the hinges of a pair of glasses that you already own and that fit well. Consider a tolerance of +/- 4mm.
To find your size match, you can refer to these supplier size charts.
Important: Not all companies provide the measurement of the width of the frame, i.e. the distance between the hinges. If this information is not present in the product sheet, we recommend you adopt method 2 ("If you don't have a
pair of glasses") to determine your size
best suited to you. Remember that, in each product sheet, you will always find the dimensions indicated
of glasses: width of the lens, width of the bridge and length of the temples.
If you don't own a pair of glasses
If you don't have a pair of glasses on hand and don't know what your size is, you can find it using a credit card or similar sized card.
Place the long side of the paper in the center of your nose, align the short side with your eye and look at yourself in the mirror.
How to tell if your glasses are the right size
To ensure that your glasses are the right size and guarantee maximum comfort and optimal vision, you can follow these simple steps.
The bridge of your glasses (the part that rests on your nose) should not pinch or leave marks on your skin. Glasses should not slide down your nose or exert excessive pressure.
Lens width (caliber): The lenses should completely cover your eyes from all angles, without your eyes being too close to the inside or outside edges of the lenses. This ensures optimal vision and protection.
Length of temples : The temples should extend straight to your ears and rest comfortably on them, without pressing too tightly on your head. The ends of the rods should rest softly behind your ear without causing discomfort.
Horizontal alignment: Your glasses should be horizontally aligned with your eyes and not tilted to one side. This indicates that the frame fits your face well.
Space between the lenses and the eyelashes : There should be enough space between your eyelashes and the lenses to prevent the eyelashes from touching or staining the lenses when you blink.
Comfort on the temples and nose: You should not feel pressure or discomfort on the temples or bridge of the nose. A good frame fits well without leaving marks or causing headaches.
Visibility: Make sure your vision is clear in all directions. The frames should not block your view or cause distortion. If you experience problems with one or more of these aspects, you may need to adjust your frame or choose a different size. Remember, comfort and visual clarity are key to finding the perfect glasses for you.
